Conscious-minded living and business ignites a spark in me that has continually fuels my vision for positive change. Of course, I didn’t realize that in my younger years!
It seemed that from a young age I didn’t know what I was looking for or what I wanted out of my life. I went to university, travelled the world and climbed the corporate ladder. It wasn’t until I’d worked for 10-years in the world of corporate finance and marketing that I came face-to-face with the fact that somehow along the way, I had become truly and profoundly stagnant. I hadn’t listened to my inner voice and as a result, my life lacked heart somehow. I was a woman with endless ambition, but no real inspiration or purpose. As a farmer’s daughter, I understood how to work hard, apply myself, be honest and be proud of my work. Yet, the life had created had a way of wearing me down and making me tired. I had been through a divorce, dealt with health issues and had witnessed corporate dealings that left a scar on my sense of trust. My confidence was eroding and my inner fire and willfulness became dull and lifeless. I was stuck! Not a stranger to change, I knew I desperately needed to transform my life – but intentionally this time!
Being stuck created a thirst in me to understand change. I returned to school and completed my Master’s thesis on “People & Change Dynamics in Business.” (from an American University- which does not qualify me to be a Clinical Counsellor in Canada) I studied mediation, conflict resolution, organizational development, marketing and went on to become a Certified Change Expert. Before long, I became a consultant and trainer who worked with big and small companies. I registered with two national counselling associations in Canada, completed various Supervisor training and then became a Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling-Supervisor. I adore supporting others so I assist other counsellors and supervisors through various on line Supervision Programs. I continued to updated my marketing training through various program and national training institutes. All of this to say that my dreams “ethical and purposeful business” became the true catalyst for me creating our on line Private Practice Business Program and Private Practice Marketing Program, aimed at helping mental health and wellness professional learn how to start, run, upgrade and authentically market their practice. Offered globally, these programs have become my passion by helping people around the globe create the authentic lives and careers they want. I guess somewhere along the way I learn that 1) being in the wrong career/relationship and lifestyle can suck you dry and 2) that even if you are in the right career/relationship or lifestyle, happiness is an internal discipline to be learned 3) the difference between a dream and a goal is ACTION! and 4) that integrity and adaptability are some of the most profound life and career leadership skills we can ever develop.
The birth of by company “Global Alignment” was a pivotal piece of the puzzle that gave me the momentum to press “reset” on various parts of my life. Instead of compartmentalizing the idea of happiness to just one area of my life, I explored it in ALL areas of my life. Having a team of like minded people fueled my well being and allowed our team to find ways for us to live our purpose at home and at work so the focus is aligned. I’m excited to be part of an emerging mindset of people on my team and around the globe who feel the same. When we help someone fulfill their purpose, they help others and so on and so on. That to me feels like fulfilling the vision of this company – GLOBAL ALIGNMENT! We travel the world, live well, enjoy our families and friends while living and teaching others to live their purpose! So look at your life (all of it), take a breath and decide if you need to make changes. If yes we say- life is short, it’s never too late – FIND YOUR MAGIC!
