Professional Counselling Reveals How Your Past Haunts Your Present
Everything we experience in life leaves an imprint on us. For better or worse, our psyche has a way of storing our past in such a way that it influences our present and future perceptions.
Even with the absolute best of childhoods, our experiences leave a powerful residue that carries though into our adult lives. It can and does easily enrich or taint our view of the world, others and ourselves. As we move into adulthood, those original childhood perceptions continue to amplify and recreate the same issues, making things much better or much worse.
When the same problems resurface again and again and our lives start to reveal patterns, we reluctantly come to understand that it is not necessarily the world that is the problem; it is us who are likely out of balance. We deeply long for and desire better results, success, a better life and more fulfilling relationships, but we are often taught the wrong way to go about creating those. We must learn that our feelings, when used well, can become the uncomfortable drivers that fuel us to seek much needed change in our lives.
Don’t fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have!
You Don’t See the World as IT Is – You See It as YOU Are
Every choice and event in your life has been fuelled in part by the blind spots that result from your history. Those same blind spots have moulded both your conscious and unconscious perceptions, beliefs, choices and actions. As a result, you might experience a theme of feeling not considered, victimized, unlucky, bitter, or frustrated by the mistaken belief that these challenging life events are happening TO you, instead of FOR you.
The truth is, you can expect the same life challenges to repeat again and again, more frequently and more severely, until you uncover how your perception has been keeping you stuck.
The Gift of Change: Slaying Self-Sabotage to Fuel Breakthroughs
If you think the past is about letting sleeping dogs lie, I am afraid that this is a horrible myth. Until you resolve your past perceptions, they will continue to sabotage your present and future efforts. Our past and our demons don’t lie quietly asleep. If fact, those voices in our mind and our fears are ruthless. They bully us out of a better life, a better relationship, a better career or more abundance. It’s time for a chiropractic adjustment to your perceptions, to realign yourself into a more healthy and happy way of being.
Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and more resilient.
