Most of us have come across some very shady business practices in our lives. In fact, those bad business dealings and slick marketing tactics have greatly influenced our business approach, philosophy and what we DO and DO NOT teach in our programs.

For example, we believe that your business is a mirrored reflection of you. How you run your business, draft your policies, establish your boundaries and interact with your clients are influenced by who you are as an individual. because everything we do as a professional and as a business owner has an impact on others (and our reputation), our philosophy of “Conscious Minded Business” and “Values Based Leadership” helps business owners remember to be very mindful of their business dealings. Furthermore, we don’t advocate a traditional ‘competitive model’ where we see ourselves as more or less than others in the industry. Instead, we advocate that each person, product, service, packaging, education level, approach and message has its own uniqueness that can help your business ‘authentically’ shine.

Our philosophy also advocates ‘teaching others to fish’. As such, our goal is to educate and empower professionals to practice becoming savvy entrepreneurs. This means we teach theory, give assignments and provide hands on personal support while encouraging you gradually apply that theory and knowledge as independently as possible. Over time, as you become more familiar with marketing and more confident to apply the theory, the more empowered and self sufficient you will be!

Let’s Face It – Cookie Cutter Marketing Just Doesn’t Work!

Recognizing that each entrepreneur and their business is unique, their marketing efforts for it should be as well. Factors like where a business is located (city vs. country), the uniqueness of your products and services or how they are offered (face-to-face vs. online) an individual’s personality type (introvert vs. extrovert), past experiences (i.e. public speaking) and individual budget considerations are only a few of the reasons why cookie-cutter marketing is simply a waste of time and money! Above all, many licensed practitioners and professionals have very specific regulatory and ethical considerations regarding how we, as practitioners, market our business.

Self-Defeating Road Blocks – Getting Out of Your Own Way

With more than a decade of industry experience, we believe one of the most common self-defeating habits of practitioners in business is to have unrealistic expectations and jump ahead to marketing without first having a solid business foundation in place. Quite often, first-time business owners don’t have unique enough products, services or messaging to attract clients. They may understand some of the “what to do” when it comes to marketing, but they don’t quite understand “how to do it” in a manner that creates the desired outcome (more ideal clients). Beyond that, it is natural for business owners to have fears, resistance and judgments regarding marketing, sales, money, technology and compliance; and as such, self-defeating behaviors tend to derail their success. Healthy marketing requires a healthy mindset and so it is pivotal to address any fears and barriers that arise, to improve marketing outcomes!
